Changing Secondary Prof. Question
Alright, so I have the option to change my character's secondary profession now. How would I go about getting the skills for the new profession? Would I be able to re-do quests to get the skills instead or are they already unlocked and the only was is to use a skill trainer?
Oh, and are unlocked skills available for new characters that I might create? Last edited by Snowcloud; Mar 10, 2010 at 10:56 AM // 10:56.. |

You won't be able to repeat quests you've already done, but there will be profession specific quests available for your new secondary.
Any skills you aquire on one character will not be available to new PvE characters. They will be availale to any PvP character you make. You may, however use skill tomes with your new PvE character to get skills you've unlocked on other characters. |

You won't be able to re-do quest's, so only new quest's that you picked up that offer skill rewards will give skills for your new profession.
You can get skills for your new profession by purchasing them from skill trainer's, using skill books if you have previously unlocked the skills with another character.. Also, if you have access to Nightfall and/or Eye of the North you an use Hero Points to learn skills from Hero Skill Trainer's. Any skill you learn from a Hero Trainer you'll have access to on that character - but only that character.

Also, you will only receive skills from quests if you are the correct profession for those skills at the moment. So you don't learn every skill from a quest with a single skill for each profession, only 0-2, depending on which professions you are right now.
I would suggest map traveling back to Ascalon if you have Prophecies. There are some skill quests there that should be quite easy at your level. |

Thanks for the responses. So if I make a new pve character they will have to unlock the skills on their own regardless of what my other character has?
Also, can someone clarify the thing about using skill points to purchase skills? I thought you needed gold to use skill trainers |

There is a difference between unlocking skills and learning skills.
Once you unlock a skill, it is unlocked for the whole account. You can use it on any PvP char or hero right away. PvE chars need to learn them using tomes or by buying them from skill trainers. At skill trainers you buy skills for a skill point and an amount of gold (increasing to a max of 1k per skill). When you unlock skills they become available at all skill trainers in the campaign the unlocked skill is from. |

Talking Prophesies here.
After changing my monk's 2nd to ranger, I did find that all the ranger only quests were available. All skills "unlocked" through quests, become available to following characters at skill trainers or with Tomes. |
